About the Podcast
As part of the EYS 2026 – Integrated Youth Voices & EU Youth Dialogue Digital Campaign, MV International has produced Decoding Disinfo: Young Fact-Checkers vs. Hate Speech, a podcast that encourages young people to reflect on misinformation, hate speech and responsible digital citizenship.
Developed as one of the campaign’s multimedia outputs, the podcast contributes to promoting democratic participation, media literacy and the values of the EU Youth Dialogue through accessible and engaging storytelling.
What You’ll Hear
Rather than delivering a lecture, the podcast follows a conversational format led by two hosts who introduce and reflect on the experiences of two young people involved in counter-speech initiatives.
Through their stories, listeners discover how misinformation spreads online, how stereotypes can evolve into hate speech, and why empathy, dialogue and critical thinking are essential tools for creating healthier digital spaces.
Why This Matters
False information rarely spreads because people lack facts alone. More often, it exploits emotions such as fear, frustration and uncertainty.
The podcast explores these dynamics while showing how storytelling, active listening and respectful conversations can help challenge harmful narratives more effectively than facts alone. Inspired by real experiences, it encourages young people to question online content, verify information and become active contributors to safer digital communities.
