Active citizenship begins with informed, engaged and empowered young people. As part of the MVI 2026 programme, MV International will organise the Participatory Workshop on Youth Empowerment Through Civic Education, an interactive learning experience designed to strengthen civic competences, democratic participation and youth engagement across Europe.
The workshop will bring together young people, youth workers and representatives of civil society organisations in a collaborative environment where learning is driven by participation, dialogue and the exchange of experiences. Using non-formal education methods, participants will explore how they can play an active role in their communities and contribute to democratic processes at local, national and European level.
Throughout the activity, participants will take part in storytelling exercises, simulations, group discussions and case studies that encourage critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving. These methods will help them better understand the value of active citizenship, democratic participation and shared responsibility while developing practical skills that can be applied in their everyday lives.
The workshop also aims to strengthen participants’ confidence in expressing their ideas, engaging in constructive dialogue and working collectively to address social challenges. By creating an inclusive space for reflection and cooperation, the activity will encourage young people to become active contributors to more resilient, inclusive and democratic communities.
The Participatory Workshop on Youth Empowerment Through Civic Education reflects MV International’s commitment to supporting the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy by promoting participation, inclusion and meaningful engagement through non-formal learning. It represents another step towards empowering young people to become informed citizens, community leaders and positive agents of change across Europe.
